Reaction Paper for the movie, “The Croods”

I find the movie so interesting and fun, yet imparted a lot of values in life. However, I have three insights accordingly to the movie, The Croods, which are:
To trust, value and care for family and other people; Don't be afraid of change; Be Open-Minded and lastly, To show our responsibilities as a person or as a member of the family.
First, I learned more how to value and care for each member of the family. Just like in the movie, the father really wanted his family to bring them forth safely. For me, it’s really important to value each member of our own or let’s say anybody else to avoid chaos. This can signify that we are free from any trouble with regards to our sociability.
Second, In the beginning of the movie, Grug always said that new is always bad. But at the end of the movie, he realized that there was so much more to new things than danger. Change is always inevitable. We will always have to experience it and encounter new things. The best we can do is to not be afraid of it. Being open to new things is the only way we will able to discover more about ourselves. Nothing's ever going to happen if you do not have the courage to leave your comfort zone. We have to be open to change and try out new things. Always keep in mind that not all change is for the worse. Some are for the better.

I had realized that being optimistic in exploring things should also be given importance. Pointing out the scene from the movie, in which the daughter tried to investigate and search for the light she had seen. Without that curiosity towards light, the family would not have seen the flipside of the world.

Third,  Be Open-Minded
Nothing good will ever take place if you only listen to your own opinions. At the beginning of the movie, Grug only wanted everybody else to do the things he suggested. But at the end of the movie, he came to realize that he also needs other people's opinions. We have to learn to respect other people's voices even if they are not the same with our own. The world is a huge place and we will always meet people who think different thoughts from our own. But just because you think different thoughts doesn't mean that you shouldn't be friends. We must learn to be open-minded. In this way, both parties in the relationship experience growth and development.

Fourth, and most importantly, I learned to show my responsibilities being the eldest son. I was amazed by the father in the movie because he never forbidden his family despite those drastic way of living. Though there were a lot of trials the family had been facing, the father was still eager to pursue his responsibility as a good “father”. On my concern, being aware of your limits or responsibilities gives an image of what you really are.

Thus, I want to apply these three insights in my life by just persisting everything written here. Maybe I could start this step by step and evaluate myself afterwards whether there has an alteration within my personality. I just want to handle everything professionally as a brother to my younger siblings and as a son to my parents. I’m a kind of person who aims to bring honor to my family.

Mabuhay Camiguin!

Unforgettable Experience ever!!

One bright-sunny day, way back from our place, Tandag City, we woke up early to take our breakfast. After a few jiff, my aunt texted us to go to the beach. We had never expected  that kind of quick invitation. I thought there was an event happened, but then I knew it was just for a mini-reunion. We were so active and lively on that day. We have eaten several desserts and menu. We were dancing and singing as if we're crazy. Few of us were enjoying the rest of the day for it was summer. It had been a great feeling for me to once bond with my close relatives.

Unknowingly, after some rest, my aunt bought junk foods and other drinks just to make the jaunt more memorable and fun. Aftermath, we played volleyball in which boys were to be challenged with the girls. We really had a good time laughing, playing, swimming and whatsoever.

On the next day, we're again called by them to visit and wander the beauty of Villa Maria Luisa Hotel. We took so much pictures and we had a night swimming in the pool. We had eaten lechon, desserts, junk foods all over again and beverages. It was a tiring day once again but all worth it. We enjoyed everything and every bit of time.

I really can say, experiences can't be bought or exchanged by money or any other things. These should be treasured and be cherished for God only lend us the time to enjoy despite of many disappointments. :))
